Dutch based Moonen Shipyards announced the launch of the 42m motor yacht Sofia custom constructed for a repeat client. Superyacht Sofia is the largest luxury yacht built by Moonen to date and she should be delivered in November.

Moonen Shipyards in the Netherlands have completed the Moonen 82 Alu fast displacement superyacht My Way for Russian clients who have been very involved in the entire process. Delivered exactly as planned, the yacht easily surpassed her specified speed of 25 knots in sea trials. "My Way also performed superbly in terms of stability and her low noise levels," reports the owner, who travelled over from Russia especially for the trials. "There was a remarkable feeling of safety at all speeds and in all conditions."

Moonen Shipyard is currently building a Moonen 100 Explorer motor yacht for a repeat client. The Moonen 100 Explorer will be the fourth expedition yacht built by the yard. The Moonen 100 Explorer yacht features naval architecture and interior design by Vripack, with interior engineering by Moonen. Built under the yard number YN195 is built with a steel hull and an Aluminium superstructure.

Moonen Shipyard Launches Superyacht Crystal
Moonen Shipyards in the Netherlands has launched the 120ft motor yacht Crystal, a unique project designed by Bill Dixon of Dixon Yacht Designs and completed by Moonen. The 36.93m (120ft) yacht Crystal was started by Royal Denship in Denmark and was around a quarter complete when they went bankrupt in 2009. The semi-displacement superyacht Crystal arrived at the Moonen shipyard in May 2010 after the owner chose Moonen Yachts to complete the build.

Three-seater Sub Leads To Extension Of 42m Yacht: Largest Moonen To Date Gets Larger
Moonen Shipyards in the Netherlands has announced that its largest project to date, which was originally slated to be 133 feet in length, has been extended by a further four feet. The fully customised 42 metre Moonen will now carry a submarine that is capable of seating three passengers instead of the originally specified two.
